Mr. Melvin Louis White, Sr.
March 27, 1945 – May 17, 2018
Melvin Louis White Sr., as born March 27, 1945 born to the late Mr. John Lee White and Mrs. Celie Hereford White. He departed his life on May 17, 2018. Joined in holy matrimony to the former Linda Faye Ford on March 26, 1964. Out of this union four children were born.
He confessed hope in Christ and joined the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in 1996. He was an active member until his health prevented him from attending.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 54 years, Linda F. White; four children: Monica W. Battle (Ralph), Huntsville, Alabama, Marcus L. White (Carrie), Hayward, California, Melvin L. White Jr., Hoover, Alabama and Mashonda L. White, Huntsville, Alabama; two grandsons: Jordan T. White and Isaiah A. White, Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters: Fannie McKellery (Walter), Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Joyce Hardin (Robert), Toney, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24,l 2018 at the Valhalla Memory Gardens (698 Winchester Road, Huntsville, Al 35811) with Dr. O. Wendell Davis officiating.

Mrs. Ollie Gilliam Ragland
July 5, 1951 – May 4, 2018
Ollie Mae Gilliam Ragland, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, departed this life on May 4, 2018 in Meridianville, AL. Ollie was born on July 5, 1951, in Huntsville, AL, to the late Ollie and Ruby Tibbs Gilliam. She was the second child of three siblings, one of whom preceded her in death (Larry). As the only girl, she was affectionately known as Baby Sis. She married Tyrone Ragland in 1985 and they remained married until her death on May 4, 2018. Ollie was a longtime member of Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, where she faithfully attended and served until her health began to decline.
Ollie attended William Hooper Councill High School, and went on to graduate from Huntsville High School, Class of 1969. Upon graduation, she attended the North Alabama College of Commerce, earning an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. She was selected for employment at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in 1976. She later enrolled in Calhoun Community College and then on to Athens State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She retired an experienced and certified Contracting Officer, in 2005.
Ms. Francine D. Crimes-Malone
November 23, 1969 – April 30, 2018
Funeral service for Ms. Francine D. Crimes-Malone will be Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (315 Winchester Road NE – Huntsville, AL 35811). Interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.

April 2, 1949 – April 19, 2018
Funeral service for Ms. Ruby Jean Humphrey Lynch (CHS Class of 1967) will be Friday, April 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon at First Missionary Baptist Church (3509 Blue Spring Road – Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Julius R. Scruggs officiating. Family visitation will be Thursday, April 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
